Yes, you guys are right. You have reigned me in. Wilders does the best with the time he has allotted and given that his interviewers HATE him and he has a really tough case to make given today's world. One has to admire quite dignity in a man like that. Plus, I didn't know that he lived under that GREAT a death threat. Jesus, that in itself tells you all you need to know about Islam. Tom Hanks and Ron Howard made a movie that basically spit on over a million Catholics and they sleep soundly in their beds and made millions off of those films. (Hanks got paid 50 million!! for the second one.) Wilders made a 10 minute movie that was nothing but a factual presentation of Koranic passages and he has to live through basically what sounded like hell. And his own government wanted to put him in jail!!!

That man is a hero.

You're too tough with Wilders here. He can't right all wrongs at once. He keeps his subject focussed. Imagine if he'd given that leftard an Objectivist blast. There would have then been too much to tackle in the allotted time. And the leftard was showing signs of strain with relatively simple matters as it was.

You may be right. But Wilders in that interview did NOT deal well with the religious aspects raised by the Leftie. He didn't explain why a comparison b/w Christianity and Judaism now and Islam throughout its whole history is misleading and deceptive. If he grounds his defense of the West on Judeo-Christian grounds exclusively, which it sometimes seems he does, he is going to have to effectively explain why the violence in those traditions is different than the violence in Islam. That's a difficult thing to do. The best at that is Spencer and Bostom.

Also, he did not have a good answer for the stats on black and Maori incarceration statistics. The interviewer phrased it in terms of incarceration statistics which is Leftist deception. It should have been stated as black and Maori CRIME statistics. Why do blacks and Maori commit crime so far outside their percentages? That should have been the question. But there is a similarity to the high crime rates of blacks, Maori, AND Muslims. Well why is that? Well there is the whole crux of it. ITS THE LEFTIST WELFARE STATE AND MULTICULTURALIST DEMONIZATION OF WHITE EURO CULTURE THAT HAS CREATED THE NIHILIST, VIOLENT, MURDEROUS, RAPIST CULTURE OF BASICALLY ALL NON-WHITE, NON-ASIAN IMMIGRANT GROUPS. But even there, the Muslims have something that blacks and native Indians don't have: Islam - which is a hate-filled supremacist military movement. That last is something which Wilders could be more explicit on.

Now what I just said is something that Wilders really couldn't say the way I did. There are limits to what can be said in modern politics and he pushes those limits. So, yes you are right, I am too harsh. Its just that he is so heroic that I want him to be perfect. Its unrealistic but human on my part I guess.

I think you're being a bit hard on him, Doug. He does make many of the points that you've listed, and the counter-jihad movement certainly does. They don't refer to muslims being behind enemy lines for no reason. Point 16, I think, does need watering down. I don't think there's a need to go that far. Widespread hostility towards the anti-freedom aspects of Islam and zero support for any nonsense should be enough.

...with Wilder's position is that it is inconsistent and it comes across as weak. He argues that Islam is inherently violent. True. But then he says that not all Muslims are violent so they can stay in Western countries. But, we shouldn't import any more and we shouldn't build mosques. He doesn't make the connection between the violence of Islam, the culture of Arabs/Muslims, the problems inherent in immigration from violent cultures and why in Leftist multiculturalist welfare states such immigration is GUARANTEED to wreak devastation on the host societies.

Now to be fair, that is not an easy argument to make and Wilders does his best. And yes, this Australian "journalist" was your typical Leftist prick. But Wilders message could be vastly improved. He should say:

1) Islam is an inherently violent military movement. World conquest is its ultimate aim.
2) Christianity and Judaism have undergone CENTURIES of reinterpretation and transformation. Islam has not.
3) Christianity and Judaism currently exist within the confines of post-Enlightenment European culture which is radically different than Islamo-Mesopotamian culture.
4) Arab/Muslim culture is the most inbred culture in the world; i.e patrilinial marriage (brother-sister marriage). This makes it the most tribalistic culture in the world.
5) When Muslims pass a certain percentage of the host culture, VIOLENCE ALWAYS ENSUES.
6) Islam, like any ideology, will be moved and directed by it most consistent demographic. The most consistent contingent of Muslims are the Sharia faithful Jihadists.
7) All Muslims, peaceful or not, are de facto soldiers for Islam in that they provide cover and moral support for the Sharia faithful.
8 ) There is no significant movement in the Islamic world to reform Islam. There won't be in any time frame that matters.
9) The welfare state and Leftist ideology ENSURE that Muslims will hate and wage ideological war on the host country.
10) The Left will use anti-Islam sentiment, which is entirely proper, to demonize non-Leftists and continue with their agenda of Leftist domination. Thus...
11) The "unholy alliance" between Islam and the Left ensures the destruction of ALL Western nations.
12) Islam represents a CEASELESS, NEVER ENDING, ETERNAL DECLARATION OF WAR AGAINST ALL NON MUSLIMS. Therefore...
13) Islam is RADICALLY different than ANY OTHER RELIGION ON THIS EARTH. It is a PERMANENT SOLICITATION FOR WAR AND VIOLENCE AGAINST ALL OF NON MUSLIM HUMANITY.
14) A Muslim presence in any Western nation is the same as A FIFTH COLUMN IN THAT COUNTRY WAGING A STEALTH WAR OF OCCUPATION.
15) Islam is INCOMPATIBLE WITH WESTERN CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNANCE.

16) Therefor Islam should be banned and Muslims deported.

Point 16 could be minimized or watered down. But what Wilders and the anti-Islam movement need to do is make the connection between Islam and a war movement intent on hostile take over. They need to argue that the presence of Muslims at all in Western nations is a danger. BUT...

... Who is able to do that? NOT EVEN WILDERS!!! Only Larry Auster and his traditionalist Conservatives make that argument. Would any Objectivists? Of course not. They're too busy trying to import more Mexicans who are all peace loving libertarians in their eyes.

Bottom line: Islam is a war movement. ALL Muslims are a fifth column presence in Western nations. Self defense of Western Civilization requires the expelling of both Islam and Muslims from Western lands. That is impossible under Leftist rule; ie the rule of evil men like the journalist that interviewed Wilders.

Wilders is heroic but even he is not prepared to go down the road that his ideas suggest. But IMO that is the road that ALL lovers of the West will have to travel by the time this is all said and done. Even Objectivists will one day have to pull their heads out of their asses and realize that Islam (and not "Islamism") is the enemy and MUSLIMS MUST GO.

So the fundamental problem that Classical Liberal lovers, Constitutionalists and Objectivists must face is this: how do you stop Islamic immigration, the growth of Islamic populations within Western lands, the stealth Jihad within Western countries, without violating individual, liberty oriented premises? How do you SINGLE OUT ISLAM AND MUSLIMS without violating original liberalism or Objectivism? Can you? I think you can but nearly EVERYONE else is treating original liberalism, the Constitution and Objectivism as a suicide pact. The ARI sure the fuck is. Brook can't even say the phrase "the war on Islam". And don't even get me started on Hsieh and Armstrong.

Geert Wilders has just visited Australia and this is the kind of thing he is up against. The interviewer raises the same talking points that Damien raises, but he is nothing but a smug and ignorant prick out to stick it to Mr Wilders. It's reasonably long and will make your blood boil, but it's worth watching the entire interview. Wilders handles it superbly.

THIRTY years ago, as a young man, I dreamed of Australia. I wanted to find myself a job there. Lack of sufficient funds decided otherwise and I ended up in Israel, working in a bakery in Jerusalem and on a farm near Jericho.

During the year that I lived in Israel, I travelled to Egypt. This trip made a huge impression on me. Israel and Egypt are neighbours, with the same climate, similar resources, the same potential. And yet Egypt is poor while Israel is wealthy. Even though at the time I was not interested in politics, I learned from this trip that the key to understanding the wealth of nations lies in their culture. If the latter promotes freedom, a nation will prosper.

In the 30 years since my first visit to Egypt, I have visited Indonesia, Turkey, Tunisia, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan. I left Iran in a hurry once, fearing for my life, because, in a speech at a Tehran school for diplomats and military cadets, I had criticised the regime and spoke in defence of Israel. They had told me that I was allowed to speak freely, but it was naive to believe them.

In the Islamic world, I was always struck by two things. I was impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of many people. But there was also their fear. Islamic societies are ruled by terror. Muslims are good people, but they live under the yoke of Islamic sharia. If they leave Islam, or even just mildly criticise it, they sign their own death verdict.

I returned to The Netherlands and became a politician. I used to live in the Kanaleneiland district of Utrecht. During my years there, the district was transformed into a dangerous neighbourhood for non-Muslims. I have been robbed. On several occasions I had to run for safety. The same transformation happened in several cities in The Netherlands and other European countries where Islam settled. Europe is going through an Islamification process, which makes our continent less free and less safe.

Contrary to what many Westerners think, Islam, rather than a religion, is a totalitarian political ideology. It is an ideology because it aims for an Islamic state and wants to impose sharia on all of us. It is totalitarian because it is not voluntary: once you are in, you cannot get out. Unlike genuine religions, Islam also makes demands on non-Muslims. We, too, are marked for death if we criticise it.

For nine years I have been living under constant police protection. I live in a government safe house. I am driven every day to my office in an armoured police car. I have even lived in army barracks and prison cells just to be safe from assassins. I am threatened because I am a a critic of Islam.

I always make a distinction between Muslims and Islam, between the people and the ideology. Most Muslims are moderate, but this does not mean there is such a thing as a moderate Islam. People who reject Islam’s violent and intolerant commandments are not practising “moderate Islam” — they are not practising Islam at all.

That is the truth. And it needs to be said because freedom of speech is the only tool we have. We stand for our convictions, but we never use violence. We abhor violence. The reason we reject Islam is Islam’s violent nature. Our commitment to human dignity does not allow us to use violence nor to give in to cynicism and despair. As the ex-Muslim and Islam critic Ali Sina says: “We don’t raise a sword against darkness; we lit a light.” So it is. We lit the light of the truth. The truth that while Muslims can embrace freedom, Islam cannot.

In the normal order of things, immigration from Islamic countries weakens Islam. People prefer freedom over tyranny. Contact with Western freedoms would lead Muslims to abandon Islam. However, through the creation of a sharia-based parallel society in the West, Islam manages to continue its control over its captives.

This week, I will be speaking in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Politicians say I am not welcome, universities do not want to grant me access. They say I am an extremist. However, I am not. I am the leader of the third-largest party in The Netherlands, a country known for its tradition of tolerance. I have spoken earlier in the premises of the US congress, the British House of Lords, the Israeli Knesset, the Danish parliament, and at numerous conferences, where I met like-minded democratically elected politicians, none of whom belong to the far Right.

Freedom is the key to prosperity and Islam deprives people of it. Let us support Muslims who want to free themselves from the yoke of Islam. Let us stand for our own freedoms. We owe it to the past generations always to speak the truth and not to squander our liberties. And we owe it to the future generations not to sign away their freedom.

I will take 200 of those guys please!
