A New Zealand Muslima named Aliya Danzeisen, who happens to be a former corporate lawyer from the United States, has given voice to a brave warning to NZ about a grave character flaw hidden in the depths of new National Party leader Todd Muller’s soul. There may even be more than one.

Mr. Muller keeps among his private possessions an evil, red MAGA hat, which he intends to display on a prominent shelf in his new parliamentary office.

The game is up for the National party, and thank goodness for that.

The arrogant attitude within the party from the left - people like Chris Bishop and David Farrar - is they can adopt all Labour's policies, and hold their supporters in contempt (and they despise the rural small town people), because "they have nowhere else to go"

In response around half a million people who voted National in 2017 are saying "up yours, matey!". Including me. Slut that I am I have voted 2 ticks National at the last three elections haha!

Joe Biden is clearly not well.

Republican commentators everywhere are perhaps too decent to come out and state the obvious; that it looks as though Joe has dementia. President Trump is putting the case too kindly when he refers to the former Vice President as “Sleepy Joe.”

Joe’s interviews are almost too painful to behold – he stammers and squints into camera, then when he does get on a roll he can’t articulate a coherent sentence and often makes remarks that just don’t make any sense. He literally and frequently speaks nonsense that is beyond the pale of the normal nonsense Dems like to trot out, it’s gibberish consistent with cognitive degeneration.

It's hard for me to believe that the following occurred within my own lifetime, albeit that I was barely a teenager. The current ubiquity of upward-inflecting air-headed fry-quacking and its attendant refusal/inability to discuss anything of substance (those should be the other way round, probably) had not yet kicked in, and an astonishingly nimble mind belonging to a genius was still able to manifest itself in complete, coherent sentences unimpeded by Attention Deficit Disorder or sowphones! DIFFERENT STANDARDS

Mr_Lineberry's picture
Submitted by Mr_Lineberry on Mon, 2020-05-11 23:05

The Flynn caper has exposed one of the fundamental differences between left and right.

On the left you find a long trail of filth - rapists, pederasts, fraudsters, wife beaters, even murderers - so that at regular intervals the left wing establishment and media are having to rally around to protect the latest degenerate who got caught.

Their usual line in the media, history books, and other discourse is (as Richard Nixon famously pointed out during his interviews with David Frost) is "oh ha ha ha it's just fun and games; nothing to see here". Compare that attitude towards Edward Kennedy murdering a woman, Clinton's rape victims, or Hunter Biden's drug addled bribe taking, with Justice Kavanaugh or Donald Trump's locker room talk.

This case seeks to protect and vindicate fundamental liberties that citizens of the United States enjoy free from government interference. These liberties are not conferred or granted by government to then be rescinded at the will and whims of government officials. These God-given liberties are possessed by the people, and they are guaranteed against government interference by the United States Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land. First among these liberties is the right to peacefully protest government officials through the freedom of speech and the right to peaceably assemble guaranteed by the First Amendment. 2.The right to freedom of speech is not a right to catharsis. It is a right to meaningfully protest and assemble in public in order to change public policy. The most effective way to exercise this right is to organize and participate in a large public protest. Defendants, through the adoption and enforcement of executive edicts, have suspended this fundamental right in the City of New York. ...

Remember Folks, Altruism Means Sacrifice

Olivia's picture

The collectivist mindset, whether it be communist, socialist or fascist, has an organising principle and that is self-sacrifice. The individual must sacrifice personal needs and desires for the greater good of the group, the community or the state.

This is demanded by force according to the ethics of altruism.

I’ve written before that altruism doesn’t mean voluntarily doing nice things for others, as we all like to do from time to time. Altruism means dutifully self-sacrificing to others as a moral good.

The term “altruism” was coined in the 19th Century by Auguste Comte, the French founder of the philosophical theory known as positivism. To hold society together, Comte believed that people had to live for the sake of others by renouncing their own self-interest. Generosity and good-will had nothing to do with it.

An American Dreyfus and the failure of the Rule of Law: the Saga of Lt General Flynn

The US case of Lt General Flynn, the former Trump white House NSA advisor, has been interesting to follow. He was caught up in the House Democrat’s Russian collusion affair and charged with perjury. Is he an American Dreyfus?

Prima facie, the FBI’s abuses of process, the rule of law and over bearing unconscionable duress (which one may think of as akin to black mail) by lawyers and law enforcement officers make this case an appalling example of the politicisation of law. At the human level it demonstrates a reckless disregard for Lt General Flynn who has lost his career, house and savings.

Huntington Beach intends to sue the state after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that he would be closing all Orange County beaches.

The Huntington Beach City Council voted 5-2 to file a lawsuit against the State of California, with Council members Barbara Delgleize and Kim Carr opposing the move.

While Newport Beach did not take any action Thursday night, Councilman Kevin Muldoon suggested that the city follow Huntington Beach and sue the state, claiming that Orange County had “flattened the curve.”

Newport Beach was the locale for SOLOC 4 in 2006. I hope it stands as a beacon of liberty in these dire times.

Groupthinker Ghahraman

In an article which one of my readers recently drew to my attention, Green MP Golriz Ghahraman wrote an essay titled Freedom of Speech and Its Limits where she makes the case for why more hate speech laws should be introduced in New Zealand. https://www.pantograph-punch.c...

Because Ms. Ghahraman lays out the common arguments in favour of this cause as clearly as her abilities allow, it’s worth a read to see the one-track groove of thought those who advance this cause are stuck in. The obsession with minority groups is paramount: gender, sexual, ethnic, racial and religious (except for Christian). They view society through groupthink lenses to pass themselves off as the bold “defenders of minorities” in the eyes of other groupthinkers, which reminds me of a notable quote by philosopher/novelist Ayn Rand:

The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.

Amongst all the Engines of Dissention, there hath been none more powerful in all Times, than the fixing Names upon one another of, Contumely and Reproach, and the reason is plain, in respect of the People, who tho' generally they are incapable of making a Syllogism or forming an Argument, yet they can pronounce a word; and that serveth their turn to throw it with their dull malice at the Head of those they do not like; such things ever begin in Jest, and end in Blood, and the same word which at first maketh the Company merry, groweth in time to a Military Signal to cut one another's’ Throats.

These Mistakes are to be lamented, tho' not easily cured, being suitable enough to the corrupted Nature of Mankind; but 'tis hard, that Men will not only invent ill Naims but they will wrest and misinterpret good ones; so afraid some are even of a reconciling sound, that they raise another noise to keep it from being heard, lest it should set up and encourage a dangerous sort of Men, who prefer Peace and Agreement, before Violence and Confusion.

Their plan is decided upon

The elites running this world have decided that the best way to control us is by imposing Chinese-style forms of control. We can look forward to mass vaccinations and "health passports" which will attest to our compliance with their vaccination prescription.

One can safely assume, however, that the vaccination question, with all its risks, is only one part of the whole "new normal". Once the idea of the health passport is in place, more and more controls of this kind will be easily implemented.

This is the ten-trillion-dollar question burning in the minds of many – except for NZ journalists, who day-after-day sit through press conferences about the Covid crisis with our government leaders and never mention the word “China.”

The fact that our largest trading partner has obviously indulged in a monumental cover-up that has brought the entire world economy to its knees and literally paused our lives in a Kafkaesque lockdown should see all our journalists peppering our leaders with questions about our country’s future relations with China. Instead we hear them only asking about the details of government handouts. They are beyond pathetic and the very definition of “non-essential” workers.

I read an opinion piece on Stuff yesterday (24/4/2020) that was a typical anti-Trump complete with the writer’s own emotional biography on points. Being critical of Trump is fine and a different thing from an implacable bias of Trump is wrong on everything.

As has been pointed out in the Spectator online today there is a difference between taking Trump literally as opposed to taking seriously. It has been said that 'supporters take him seriously but not literally’ as they can see the "tradie" like humour and ironical bathos: The MSM 'media take him literally' and each word fundamentally, because ideologically they are puritan like fundamentalists in a word game that has become detached from practical reality. But they do not take him seriously.

The FBI Exposed yet Again by Inspector General Horowitz

https://www.oliviapierson.org/...

While the world is currently facing a health crisis with the Wu-flu which dominates the news in all nations, there are still major political issues going on which have not yet been given the full attention that they deserve.

One of these issues is another report undertaken by Michael Horowitz, the Inspector General for the U.S Justice Department, about the FBI’s habit of falsifying information to spy on American citizens through the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

The intelligence agencies were always a major target for President Trump’s open contempt because he knew they had conspired to overturn the result of the 2016 election, which saw him become America’s president.

The President was vindicated entirely when the IG’s first report found that the FBI, under James Comey, falsified facts and information on the FISA court warrants to have, not only the president’s campaign team spied upon, but also his transition team when he was the President-elect, and then on his actual presidency well into 2017.

We have been suddenly stripped of our liberties – and so rapidly everyone appears addled by the speed of the head-spin.

Like penned sheep let out now and then for a little skip around the paddock, we’re all “safely” in lockdown while our government charts a course for our country behind closed doors.

If I lived in America with a President Trump at the helm, I might feel more at ease knowing, in the old-school American tradition, how livelihood friendly and freedom-loving he happens to be. Because of him, that country will survive and make good over time, but that’s not to undermine the economic pain that’s now in the immediate future of Americans, apart from Joe Biden who won’t even notice.

But in New Zealand? Our PM’s only claim to a credential before she became our PM was President of the International Union of Socialist Youth – and she was not outrightly elected by New Zealand citizens in 2017, she got there by a dint of the minority-loving MMP system, along with the power-hungry tactics of a fossilised snollygoster such as Winston Peters.
