In the beginning of the Personal Computer revolution, it was called the microcomputer revolution. This distinguished our "desktop computers" from the "mini" and "mainframe" computers that occupied whole rooms. My parents bought a TRS-80 Model II in 1980. This was no toy, a real business computer with an unbelievable 64k RAM and 128k on the 8" floppy drive! There were no games for the "Trash-80", which for a teenager was a problem. In those days, the only option was to write them myself. So I did. This launched my career in software development which began in 1982. I was the original nerd. I was the kid who got away with getting my computer to print out the lines I was required to write by my teacher ("You didn't have to type it - you could have just written them"). I speak fluently the language of the computer. We can communicate in ones and zeros. I think I understand logic pretty well.
My career has taken me on a journey beyond software, through the world of sales, into cocktail bartending in London, business management and back to software development and more recently website development in a self-employed capacity.
I have had more than a little exposure to the disciplines of counselling and law.
I have a social conscience. I am interested in how people tick. I care.
