I am a nineteen year old student at Victoria University of Wellington. I am studying towards both a Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a double major in Political Science and Classical Studies (although I may end up also having a 3rd major in Latin).

I actually heard of Ayn Rand when I was over in Canada for the World Schools Debating Championship as part of the New Zealand Schools Debating Team, when two debaters were arguing over the validity of her philosophy. The New Zealand team went on to come 9th, and I was personally awarded 8th best speaker.

On returning to New Zealand I read The Fountainhead. Although I would not consider myself an objectivist, objectivism certainly interests me. Since then I have read Nathaniel Branden's 'Judgement Day' as well as Barbara Branden's 'The Passion of Ayn Rand'. The University library unfortunately lacks a copy of 'Atlas Shrugged', but one a copy should be here by Christmas.
